Rated 5 out of 5 by from AKG brilliance Been looking at purchasing these for a while, didn't want the newer Wireless version as having owned the AKG Y-45BT I found the volume limiter on Apple devices didn't allow them the depth they provided via wired connection through a Fiio headphone Amp. I ordered these through the AKG outlet store as "factory refurbished" with quite a reduction on price. They came and were packaged as new.To say I'm delighted with them would be an understatement. The build quality, materials used and the finish alone make you want to use them, then you listen to them and they are brilliant. The noise cancelling feature is more than a gimmick and definitely does it's job very well. I am really pleased with these and and having owned 3 pairs of AKG's can say that this company know exactly how to keep their customers happy and do it with panache and quality in spades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes the train ride bearable I got these for Christmas after dropping a strong hint. I've been a long time fan of AKG having used their studio headphones for over 20 years. I was not disappointed. Deep bass, wonderful noise cancelling, and compact size. I only wish they were Bluetooth capable. However I think I can fix that with a third party adapter. Get a pair, you wont be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most amazing headphones I've ever owned! I am blown away by the sound quality these headphones produce, and the noise cancellation is excellent and an added bonus. I have yet to have a friend try them out and not go out and buy their own pair. Simply amazing in quality, design and comfort!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic sound, great feel. I bought these a few days ago after being disappointed with a pair of Bose QC35s. The shop I used (Superfi in Nottingham) suggested the AKGs and offered me a trial. Immediately they felt and sounded great. The headphones themselves feel so well engineered and the sound is fantastic, noise cancellation was really effective (used them for real on a train journey to London this week) and all capped off with a rechargeable battery. I was initially put off by the on ear format but have no concerns at all now with the performance they deliver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive noise cancelling and sound quality So impressed with these headphones! Noise cancelling technology is awesome, really keeps out a lot of outside noise. The sound quality is excellent, very crisp. Also, they're super comfortable. By far my favorite pair of headphones and for the price compared to other NC headphones out there, these are a great buy. Only wish they had added volume control on in-line remote, does have call button but volume control would have been nice to have. Other than that, highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely headphones with one major flaw... Overall a great set of headphones. Nice noise cancelling, comfortable fit (although the over-ear config means that are not as effective in very loud environments like planes). Major fail though... you cannot charge the headphone while using them! If you're travelling, not such an issue, but if you're working on a computer, it's a real pain. You need to take them off to charge them as the charging socket is the same one as the sound cable. Staggeringly poor design for a high-end headphone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sounding NC headphones I have had these for about 9 months now and overall, I'm quite pleased with them. The sound quality is great, with or without NC. I use them in airplanes and in the office. In the office they are great; a nice, balanced sound. They really shine, however, on an airplane with the NC turned on. It's amazing to hear bass, voices, etc. while at 10000 meters! Battery life of the NC is stellar. Be advised though, the bass isn't maybe as pleasing to the bass-heads out there. While music like hip-hop and electronica sound great, they don't quite kick the bass like some other headphones. Turning the NC on does help, though. If you like balanced, hi-fi sound these are great. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars, for me, is the lack of a 3-button remote on the cord. An aftermarket cord could fix this. Please AKG, please make a cord for these with 3-button iOS control. Thanks!

Does it have inbuilt microphone on the device? just to attend call without wired

Asked by: tamil
Hi. Please note that the AKG N60NC is a wired model, so the microphone is on the cable, and wireless operation is not possible. The wireless version (N60NC Wireless) does indeed have a microphone built into the headphone pods, and you can have phone conversations via Bluetooth connection with your phone. You can control calls with the phone buttons on the N60. I hope this helps.

I purchased the N60 NC for wife for her birthday in Sept. Worked fine on a Delta flight in Oct. Used them 2nd time on a JetBlue flight this week. They were horrible. Cannot make out any dialogue on movie. Hear squeaks. What is wrong?

Is the part that holds the earcups to the headband on the wired model made of plastic pr metal? I am worried aboio some reviews about that fragile point.

Asked by: Ti Sanoli
The connector from the headband to the ear cup is plastic. However, the adjuster and hinge that physically holds the headband and ear cup together are metal.

Hi, when playing music the sound through these headphones it is very echoey and it is very hard to head voices and vocals. Can you please explain why this is and advise if there is there anything I can do about this? Thanks.

Asked by: Ellie
Hi. If you have the wired N60NC, this is almost certainly a matter of a mismatch between source device and the headphones' minijack. These headphones are made to work with portable devices, which almost always support the use of 4-pole minijacks. If you are using a hifi source, you will need an adapter to match the 3-pole socket used in hifi equipment, either to 3,5mm or to 6.3mm sockets. In a few cases, smartphones have a different connection pattern for the 4 poles, and if you suspect that this may be the reason, you can always test with an iPhone or Samsung phone that follow the most common connection pattern. If none of this helps, you may of course suffer from a defect in the headphones themselves, or in the cable. Please contact Harman Helpdesk for further assistance if this is the case.
