Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow I was given a set of y20's as a gift. Up until then I had used a set of foam tip buds and thought that they were good. That was until I put the y20's in. I heard sounds in my songs that I never knew were there. Higher highs, smooth lows. I could hear if a beat started sharp and flattened out or if it started flat and went sharp. Sounds that were the same in my old headphones were now completely different. If you think you have a good set of buds now, you owe it to yourself to try these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good low priced earbuds Bought these a few months ago, they are still working good. Good sound quality for the price. Includes three sizes, both the large and medium were too big for my ears but the smalls fit cozily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good sound & comfortable Only have had for a week but impressed by sound, small size and comfort. They sound good whether paired with phone, fiio or colorfly audio. Hope it is durable despite its small size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality for price point! These sound as good, if not better, than most $80-100 earbuds i've purchased in the past. Fantastic sound and excellent price point!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Send fine so far I'm not an earbud aficionado, but these seem to get the job done. I appreciate that they come with three silicone ear pieces and a little carrying pouch. The shape of the actual buds is a little big, but no complaints.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult fit, and quiet to boot After finding these at the top of the list of The Wirecutter's best budget headphones (and getting plenty of "performance worth three times their price"-style comments along the way), I decided to try them out. The packaging was nice and the units look great, but the fit... These come with three sizes of silicone "buds," with the middle size being fitted from the factory. With these on, the buds just slide right into the back of my ear and press up against the wall, totally cutting off sound from the IEMs. The medium size for most headphones tend not to fit me well, but they usually just fall out... this was the first time I've had any go mute from making inner-ear contact. I tried the large silicone buds next. Those seemed to fit better, but it's still a balancing act between having a tight seal (to get some low-frequency response) and avoiding them pressing against the ear wall and going mute. On top of this they also seem quite quiet. I'm not totally sure that's the fault of the product (it could just be the spotty seal I'm getting), but I'm still finding myself in the upper 90% of my volume range which is very unusual. I want to like these units for a few reasons -- seemingly good build quality, good clarity, and a brand I trust -- but I just can't get over the fit and volume issues.

What is the difference between the Y20 earbuds and the Y20U earbuds? Is it just the mic and volume toggle?

Asked by: JB Hutch
The only difference between these models is that the Y20U features the one button microphone that is compatible with any iOS or Android device, which Y20 doesn't have. The single-button mic and remote handles play/pause, track skipping, voice activation, and taking calls.

In the Y20, where is the mic located? If I talk closer to the mic, is it supposed to sound louder and better to the person on the other side of the call?
