Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes the train ride bearable I got these for Christmas after dropping a strong hint. I've been a long time fan of AKG having used their studio headphones for over 20 years. I was not disappointed. Deep bass, wonderful noise cancelling, and compact size. I only wish they were Bluetooth capable. However I think I can fix that with a third party adapter. Get a pair, you wont be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most amazing headphones I've ever owned! I am blown away by the sound quality these headphones produce, and the noise cancellation is excellent and an added bonus. I have yet to have a friend try them out and not go out and buy their own pair. Simply amazing in quality, design and comfort!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic sound, great feel. I bought these a few days ago after being disappointed with a pair of Bose QC35s. The shop I used (Superfi in Nottingham) suggested the AKGs and offered me a trial. Immediately they felt and sounded great. The headphones themselves feel so well engineered and the sound is fantastic, noise cancellation was really effective (used them for real on a train journey to London this week) and all capped off with a rechargeable battery. I was initially put off by the on ear format but have no concerns at all now with the performance they deliver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive noise cancelling and sound quality So impressed with these headphones! Noise cancelling technology is awesome, really keeps out a lot of outside noise. The sound quality is excellent, very crisp. Also, they're super comfortable. By far my favorite pair of headphones and for the price compared to other NC headphones out there, these are a great buy. Only wish they had added volume control on in-line remote, does have call button but volume control would have been nice to have. Other than that, highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NIce headphones, but poor headband padding. I bought these a month ago, and am really happy wih the sound, noise cancelling and earpad padding. However, I feel really let down by the over head padding. I wear these for up to 8 hours a day, and the narrow, padless headband exerts a lot of pressure despite the lightness of the headphones. This was particularly surprising considering other AKG models that do a good job with this. A wider headband and padding would make these headphones perfect. If anyone has a good suggestion to modify, let me know!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made travelling so much more enjoyable I've been really impressed with these. Noise cancelling v effective, great sound quality, light for travel. Look good to boot (as a petite female I appreciate the smaller cans!). Only complaint is I find the way they pack in on themselves scratches the cans so even after only a few weeks they look worn (but it's only superficial)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Power cable not available. To Harmon this is an old model and they discontinued the power cable. So that ends the noise cancelling. So much for satisfaction guarantee.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from N60 NC Structural Fail, everything else is great $250, that is what I spent. What I got was structural design that is beneath what should be excellence from Germanic/Austrian engineering. Firstly everything is great about this headset, and I don't want to take away anything from the fine engineers that did the good stuff. However, it means nothing when there is a bad apple in the mix the renders the entire headset garbage. The problem: the only thing connecting the earpiece to the headband is a very weak piece of plastic. From what I can see, it is also not fixable. So, my perfectly working N60's, made garbage by a piece of plastic. Engineering fail with the cost put on the consumer.

In a quiet environment should the quality of the sound be the same with or without noise cancelling on? The reason I ask is that with NC off my N60's do not seem to sound as good as my AKG K451.

Asked by: CumbriaLad
Hi. No, the sound you hear is not identical with and without noise cancellation. An active circuit with a carefully tailored audio response is included in the NC function. Your 451 is a different design, and you prefer it over the N60 in passive mode. We can only recommend always using the NC feature if this is the case.

Can this headset be used as headphone wirless ?

Asked by: Rupan
@Rupan If you choose the Y50BT following his tip (Joe G: "If you are looking for a wireless headphone, I would recommend AKG Y50BT...") be aware that if you use the cable (3,5mm jack 3-pin) with the Y50BT you only have 2 channels for listening, no microphone. In order to use the mic you have to connect via Bluetooth! I bought them greedily in a rush ^^, that's why I know. Sadly. Nevertheless they would be a good replacement if you need a wireless headset, I love them!

Are these headphones wireless?

Asked by: Joey
Um isn't this the Bluetooth model? So they would work both powered up on Bluetooth and weather powered or not they work on a cable

I'm confused by the LED indicator light. It didn't light up when I switched the NC on I assumed it needed charging. I read that the LED should go red when plugged in to charge, but instead it's a (steady) green. Is the LED wrong/broken?

Asked by: emilyg
Hi, When you have NC turned off, you will see no LED. When you connect the USB power cable, with NC turned off, you should see the "red" led light up, indicating it's charging. When you connect your headphones to a source device and switch on Noise Cancelling, the green led should light up. If this is not the behavior your AKG N60NC is showing, it may indicate a defect. In that case, please contact our Customer Service Department

how do I replace the charging cord (left on an airplane)

Asked by: lambcfp
This is a real weakness. Is there anything I can buy at an airport that can replace this charger? Would any 3.5 jack to USB cable work to charge it? I know there is a basket of these tiny little cables in every airport lost and found there is!

How do I increase and decrease volume through the headphones? Thanks

Asked by: DrSteve
The N60NC doesn’t have a volume control on headphones nor on audio cable. You can adjust the volume from the source (i.e. phone, laptop etc) instead.
